Join us for a Sunrise Masterclass in powered mobility - navigating real world environment challenges: inclusive of Magic and Quickie chairs.  We’ll help you understand all the different base types and how they impact on client participation and functional outcomes.   Consider this a super charged class on understanding powered mobility.

Selecting a suitable base to cover personal and environmental needs

• Critical components in power wheelchairs to maximize health, posture and function
• Creating genuine seating & mobility solutions in the real world – considering patient desires and abilities.
• Funding considerations - when features such as motor size, suspension type and tracking assistance are necessary rather than desirable.
• Considerations of each base type and being confident in your advice

Trained as a Physical Therapist in the United States, Amy has over 20 years’ experience working with the adult and pediatric neurologic populations, with specialties in the treatment of spinal cord injury, and evaluation and provision of assistive technology for clients with physical challenges. She was the director of the Seating and Mobility Clinic in Boston, MA USA and provided consultation services to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Based in Sydney, Amy currently develops and implements national and international training programs on using Assistive Technology to enhance inclusion, health and well-being in those with physical disabilities. She also serves a marketing and product management role for Sunrise Medical Australia.
