Mechanical Assessment Tool (MAT) is a musculoskeletal examination that’s an important component of prescribing seating for a wheelchair.

A MAT Evaluation provides a way to assess and capture relevant information about a client’s posture, movement, muscle tone and alignment and clarifies the most appropriate seating solution for your client.

This seminar will provide new graduate Occupational Therapists and anyone involved in seating and wheelchair assessment with the concepts and tools to conduct a thorough MAT evaluation. If you have a client and are unsure where to start when commencing a seating assessment, then this course is a must.

This seminar helps you understand and apply principles and biomechanics to seating posture. It provides skills training and practical tips and tricks to make you much more comfortable conducting an MAT evaluation and prescribing the right seating solution for your client.

This seminar will also help you develop problem-solving skills based on real-world scenarios, develop clinical justification skills to write a successful funding application and integrate knowledge learned into product setup and clinical practice.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build up your confidence by learning from an educator with years of clinical experience and to network with peers new to Occupational Therapy

All attendees will receive an attendance certificate for their professional development requirements.
